Salt City Ukulele is a group of ukulele-playing enthusiasts from around the Syracuse, New York, area. Our roots were in Jean MacLeod’s Greater Syracuse School of Music ukulele group begun in 2012. When Jean retired, we restructured ourselves as Salt City Ukulele in 2017 and have been strumming, singing, and picking ever since!

Our weekly activities are varied. Many weeks, we just come together for a ukulele play session where we try out new songs and revisit old ones for fun. Anyone who can strum a few chords is welcome to join in!
We play songs from our SCU songbook, which can be borrowed at our play sessions. Our songbook will be available soon for you to download and print from this website.
Several times a year we hold multi-week group ukulele lessons for beginners or intermediate players, or other classes such as an introduction to music theory and notation.
We also play for the public! Our summer Ukulele and Ice Cream Therapy tour brings the fun of a ukulele singalong to ice cream stands throughout the Syracuse area. In addition, we are available to play for seniors’ homes, hospitals, festivals, and private events. Please contact us for more information.
